Official Information

Overview

Temporary visa for cultural, artistic, and athletic activities. Allows foreigners to perform cultural, artistic, sports, or similar activities in Peru. Initial validity period of 30 days, extendable for another 30 days.

The Artist Visa is a temporary immigration status established under Peruvian migration regulations to facilitate the entry of foreign nationals who intend to perform artistic, cultural, or athletic activities within the country. This visa addresses the gap for international performers, athletes, and cultural workers who need legal authorization to engage in paid or professional activities that are not covered by standard tourist or business visas. It ensures that such activities are properly registered and compliant with national labor and tax frameworks, requiring coordination between the foreign applicant and a local promoter or sponsor in Peru.

This visa is designed for professional artists, entertainers, athletes, and their essential support staff who have been hired to perform or participate in specific events in Peru. It is ideal for individuals or groups—such as musical ensembles, theatrical casts, or sports teams—who have a pre-existing contract for a temporary engagement. What makes this visa distinctive is its requirement for a formal sponsorship process initiated by a local entity in Peru, which must be approved by the National Superintendence of Migrations before the artist can apply for the visa at a Peruvian consulate abroad.
