A — Government Delegation Visa

A1 — Government Officials Visa (Category A1)

For officials of government, semi-government, and autonomous bodies and members of government delegations on official tours or duty.

A3 — Specialist/Consultant Visa (Bilateral/Multilateral)

Business Visa (Category B)

For foreign nationals conducting business activities such as meetings, conferences, trade negotiations, or analysing investment potential, valid up to six months with multiple entries.

Crew Visa

D — Official Visa (Category D)

For government officials and representatives performing official duties that do not fall under the A-category diplomatic classifications.

E1 — Project Employment Visa (Category E1)

For expatriates employed by development partners on government-backed development projects in Bangladesh, issued for up to three months with multiple entries.

Employment Visa (Category E/E2)

For expatriates employed by national, international, government, semi-government, autonomous, or private industrial and commercial organizations in Bangladesh, requiring a work permit and ministry concurrence.

FA2 — International Organization Visa (Category A2)

For officials and staff members of the UN and its affiliated organizations and international or regional bodies for employment or official duty.

FE — Employment Dependent Visa (Category FE)

For spouses and dependent children of employment visa holders (E1, E2, E3) accompanying the principal visa holder to Bangladesh.

FPI — Investor Dependent Visa (Category FPI)

For spouses and dependent children of Private Investor (PI) visa holders accompanying the principal visa holder to Bangladesh.

Journalist Visa

For accredited foreign journalists, media personnel, and representatives of print, electronic, satellite media, or freelance journalists visiting to collect information or report on events, valid up to one month.

Missionary Visa

For foreign religious workers affiliated with recognized churches or religious organizations conducting missionary work such as preaching, teaching, or charitable activities, requiring a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

NVR — No Visa Required Endorsement (NVR)

A special passport endorsement for Bangladeshi-origin foreign nationals (except SAARC countries), their children, and spouses allowing unlimited multiple entries for the entire validity of their foreign passport.

PI — Private Investor Visa (Category PI)

For foreign investors establishing or investing in industrial or commercial enterprises under 100% foreign ownership or joint ventures in the private sector, extendable up to five years.

Performer/Sports Visa

Research Visa (Category R)

For individuals participating in research, training, or internship programs at government-approved agencies or organizations, valid up to three months and extendable to three years.

Student Visa (Category S)

For foreign nationals enrolled in government-approved educational institutions in Bangladesh, valid up to one year with multiple entries and extendable for the duration of the study course.

TF — Tourist Family Visa (Category TF)

For spouses or children of Bangladeshi nationals visiting family in Bangladesh, providing longer-stay tourism-class entry for family reunification purposes.

TI — Government Delegates Visa (Category A)

For Heads of State, Government Ministers, Members of Parliament, Mayors, and equivalent persons and their accompanying spouse and dependants on official visits.

TR — Transit Visa (Category C)

For foreign nationals transiting through Bangladesh to a connecting destination, granted at international airports for up to 72 hours or the next available connecting flight.

Tourist Visa (Category T)

For foreign nationals visiting Bangladesh for tourism, cultural events, sporting events, or short-term leisure, typically valid for three months with single entry and extendable for one month.

VOA — Intern Visa

For foreign nationals undertaking short-term internship programs in Bangladesh, valid for three months, non-extendable and non-convertible to other visa categories.
