Overview

Residence visa for minor children or unmarried adult children up to age 28 of a Peruvian citizen or foreign resident.

The Family Resident Visa for children is governed by the framework of Legislative Decree No. 1350, which prioritizes the integrity of the family unit within Peru’s immigration system. This visa was created to ensure that children of Peruvian citizens or foreign residents can legally accompany or join their parents in Peru. It fills the essential gap of providing a stable, long-term immigration status for dependents who would otherwise be limited to short-term tourist stays, ensuring they have access to education and family life in their parent's country of residence.

This visa is intended for minor children or unmarried adult children up to the age of 28 who are dependent on a parent residing in Peru. It is particularly distinctive for its age flexibility, extending eligibility to adult children who are still pursuing education or are otherwise dependent. Applicants must demonstrate their familial relationship through birth certificates and satisfy the necessary background checks. Like other family resident categories, it facilitates long-term integration and allows the holder to live legally alongside their parent or legal guardian.
