Graduate Pass (Social Visit Pass – Graduate)

The Graduate Pass (Social Visit Pass – Graduate) is a post-study work initiative introduced to retain international talent and enhance the employability of graduates from Malaysian higher education institutions. Established as part of Malaysia’s broader strategy to boost its knowledge economy, this pass fills the gap between the expiration of a student visa and the transition to a full-time employment permit. It allows graduates to remain in the country for 12 months, providing them with the necessary time to seek employment, gain local work experience, or explore professional opportunities without the immediate pressure of finding an employer sponsor.

This pass is exclusively for international students from 23 eligible countries who have completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher at a Malaysian institution. It is distinctive because it does not require an employer sponsor during the application, granting graduates the freedom to job-hunt, intern, or volunteer. To qualify, applicants must hold a valid student pass at the time of application, possess active health insurance, and provide a personal bond. It serves as a vital bridge for high-skilled individuals to integrate into the Malaysian workforce following their academic success.
