Overview
Remote work visa allowing digital nomads to live in Japan for up to 6 months. Minimum annual income 10 million JPY. Available to citizens of 49 countries with visa waiver/tax treaty agreements.
Japan introduced the Digital Nomad Visa in April 2024 as a designated activities visa for remote workers. The visa allows eligible professionals to live anywhere in Japan for up to 6 months while working remotely for foreign employers or businesses. Income must be obtained from overseas sources. Spouses and unmarried children under 18 can accompany as dependents.
