Overview

Government-invited entry for ASEAN nationals invited to Hong Kong for specific events or economic contributions.

The Invited Persons Scheme enables rapid entry for individuals formally invited by Hong Kong government agencies. It is restricted to ASEAN nationals: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. A government invitation and valid passport are required; local employer sponsorship is not needed.

Stays are capped at 2 months per visit; invitation status remains valid for 3 years and is renewable. Online processing typically takes 2 weeks. Approved applicants receive an e-Visa or e-Card for expedited immigration clearance. Fees vary. The scheme does not authorize employment in Hong Kong.

This visa is ideal for academics, experts, and specialists from ASEAN invited by Hong Kong government entities for strategic conferences, forums, and engagements.
