Taiwan's Visitor Visa for Religious Activities was established to facilitate international religious exchange and support the nation's commitment to religious pluralism. It serves as a legal pathway for foreign clergy, missionaries, and religious scholars to enter Taiwan for short-term engagements such as preaching, performing rituals, or attending religious conferences. The visa is rooted in the Regulations for the Issuance of Taiwan Visas to Foreign Passport Holders and is managed by the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA).

This visa is ideal for individuals who have been formally invited by a registered Taiwanese religious organization and do not intend to stay longer than six months. It is particularly suited for those performing voluntary religious services or participating in specific seasonal or one-off religious events. Unlike standard work visas, it focuses on the spiritual and cultural contribution of the visitor rather than commercial employment.

A key distinguishing feature of this visa is the requirement for the inviting entity to be a legally recognized religious corporation or foundation in Taiwan.
