Overview

Short-stay visitor visa for attending meetings, conferences, trade fairs, contract negotiations, or other business activities not involving local employment.

Taiwan launched its Digital Nomad Visitor Visa on January 1, 2025, making it the latest Asian country to officially welcome location-independent workers. The visa is designed for remote workers and digital nomads from visa-exempt countries who wish to work for foreign employers while residing in Taiwan.

Initial validity was 3-6 months, but as of January 8, 2026, Taiwan extended the maximum validity to 2 years, aiming to attract approximately 100,000 digital nomad applicants. Applicants must demonstrate financial capability and regular remote income.
