5-year multiple-entry visa for digital nomads, remote workers, and soft-power participants; 180 days per entry, THB 500,000 savings required.
The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), launched 15 July 2024 by Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is a 5-year multiple-entry visitor visa created to formalise the status of long-stay remote workers and soft-power participants who had previously fallen between the tourist and work-permit regimes.
The visa is split into three streams (DTV1 workcation, DTV2 soft power, DTV3 dependants), grants 180 days per entry extendable once in-country for another 180 days, and costs THB 10,000. Applicants must show 500,000 THB in savings; remote work for foreign clients is permitted, but DTV holders cannot take up employment with a Thai company.
This visa is ideal for non-Thai remote workers, freelancers, soft-power participants (Muay Thai, Thai culinary, medical tourism), and their spouses or children under 20 who want a flexible long-term base in Thailand without a local sponsor.
