Digital Nomad Visa (Dovoljenje za digitalne nomade)

Slovenia's temporary residence permit for digital nomads, introduced under Article 51.a of the Aliens Act and effective 21 November 2025, lets non-EU/EEA remote workers live in Slovenia while staying employed or self-employed abroad via ICT. Applicants prove monthly funds of at least twice the Slovenian average net wage (about €38,449/year).

The permit lasts up to 12 months and is non-extendable; reapplication is only possible six months after expiry, though holders can switch to a different residence purpose at any time during validity. Government fees are modest — €13 abroad plus €102 issuance and a €15.47 residence card. Family reunification rules are unusually favorable, allowing relatives to join immediately.
