The Seychelles Workcation Retreat Programme, launched in April 2021, offers remote professionals an opportunity to live and work from the archipelago for up to twelve months on a Visitor Workcation Permit (VWP). The programme combines the VWP with a Health Travel Authorisation for a single one-time fee of EUR 45 and is administered through the seychelles.govtas.com portal.
Applicants must demonstrate foreign-sourced income from employment, self-employment, or business ownership, along with valid medical and travel insurance, confirmed accommodation, and a return or onward ticket. Foreign income is not subject to Seychelles tax, but holders cannot take up work with Seychelles-based employers, and the permit is non-renewable in-country.
This visa is ideal for digital nomads, freelancers, and remote employees who want to base themselves in a tropical setting while serving overseas clients or employers, and who can prove a steady income stream without seeking a local job.
