Overview

Sponsored visa for musicians, troupes, or performing groups visiting Oman for concerts, shows, or cultural performances.

The Band Visa (Type 17) is a specialized entry permit managed by the Royal Oman Police, designed to facilitate the temporary entry of foreign performing artists and musical groups into the Sultanate. It was established to provide a structured, legal framework for international performers to enter the country for specific artistic engagements, ensuring that such activities are monitored and sponsored by local entities. This visa fills a critical gap by allowing Omani businesses and event organizers to host foreign talent for concerts, shows, and cultural performances while maintaining regulatory oversight over the performers' stay and activities.

This visa is intended for musicians, dance troupes, and other performing artists who have been invited to perform in Oman. The ideal applicant is a professional performer or a member of a performing group with a confirmed invitation from a local Omani business or sponsor. What makes this visa distinctive is its requirement for a local sponsor who assumes full responsibility for the performer during their stay, as well as the necessity for approval from competent authorities, such as the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, to ensure the performance aligns with national standards.
