Overview

5-year multiple-entry NZ visitor visa for parents of citizens or residents; sponsorship and insurance required, no work or PR pathway.

Parent Boost is a five-year multiple-entry visitor visa from Immigration New Zealand for parents of NZ citizens or residents. Applicants must apply from outside NZ, have no dependent children with them, meet health and character requirements, and be sponsored by an adult child living in NZ for at least 184 days a year.

Applicants must show NZD 170,000 in personal funds (NZD 260,000 with a partner), NZD 33,663.24 annual income, or a sponsor earning NZD 72,800+ a year. Cost is NZD 3,100 and processing takes around 4 months. Entries are unlimited with no per-visit cap, but holders must leave NZ in year three for a health and insurance check. Work is barred and a second visa can extend stay to 10 years.

This visa is ideal for parents of established Kiwi adult children who want long, flexible visits without pursuing residence.
