Business Visa (व्यापार भिसा)

The Nepal Business Visa is designed for foreign investors, exporters, and traders who have received formal approval to conduct business activities within Nepal. This visa category is a key component of the country's efforts to attract foreign direct investment and facilitate international trade. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate a legitimate business interest or investment, which often involves registration with the Department of Industry or other relevant line agencies. The process requires a comprehensive set of documents, including a business plan, company registration certificates, tax clearance documents, and a recommendation letter from the Department of Industry or an equivalent government authority.

There is no single fixed investment threshold for all business activities, but specific categories—such as the investor visa—may require significant capital commitments, often starting at 10,000,000 NPR. The visa is typically issued for an initial period of up to six months and can be extended based on the ongoing nature of the business operations, with a maximum cumulative stay often capped at five years. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide a detailed bio-data. The visa fee is set at USD 100, and successful applicants are granted the right to reside and manage their business interests in compliance with the Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Act.
