Overview

The Netherlands Work Experience under an EU Programme permit allows non-EU nationals to gain structured work experience in the Netherlands through an official EU scheme such as Erasmus+. The Dutch employer acts as sponsor and submits the application to the IND; the fee is EUR 423.

The permit lasts up to 1 year (matching the programme duration) and cannot be extended or renewed. There is no PR pathway. Spouses may not join or work under this permit. Processing takes up to 60 days.

This visa is ideal for non-EU students or early-career professionals placed in the Netherlands through an EU-funded programme who need a short, fixed-term work authorisation.
