The Netherlands Startup permit gives non-EU entrepreneurs one year to develop and launch an innovative product or service. Applicants must work under a recognised facilitator—an accredited mentor or incubator—who provides hands-on support and co-signs the business plan submitted to the IND and RVO.
The permit costs €423 and processing takes up to 90 days. Valid for 1 year only and non-renewable, founders who show reasonable progress can convert to a self-employed residence permit. Spouses may join and work without restriction if income requirements are met.
This visa is ideal for non-EU founders with a scalable, innovative idea who want a structured one-year runway in the Dutch startup ecosystem.
