Overview

The GVVA is a combined residence and work permit for non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals taking paid employment in the Netherlands for more than 90 days. The employer sponsors the application, filed with the IND; applicants abroad apply for the MVV and GVVA simultaneously. The application fee is €423.

Work authorisation is tied to the sponsoring employer. The permit is granted for up to 3 years (renewable) and leads to permanent residence. Dependents may join under a separate family reunification permit; spouses can work but must obtain their own authorisation. Processing takes up to 90 days.

This visa is ideal for non-EU workers who have a Dutch employer willing to sponsor them and satisfy the labour market test showing no suitable EU candidate was available.
