Au Pair — Residence Permit for Au Pair

The Netherlands au pair residence permit is a cultural exchange visa for non-EU nationals aged 18 to 25 who want to live with a Dutch host family. Only an IND-recognized au pair agency can apply on the au pair's behalf, and the host family must be registered in the BRP and meet minimum income thresholds.

The permit lasts up to 12 months and is not renewable. Au pairs assist with light household duties and childcare for a maximum of 30 hours per week, and must receive pocket money and a private room. The application fee is €423, paid by the agency. Applicants must be unmarried and have no children.
