Overview

Five-year renewable permanent residence for foreigners investing at least $30,000 USD in approved Nicaraguan economic activities such as tourism, agriculture, or business ventures.

The Permanent Residence – Investor visa is authorized under the General Law of Migration and Immigration (Law No. 761) and is designed to attract foreign capital to stimulate the Nicaraguan economy. By requiring a minimum investment of $30,000 USD in approved sectors such as real estate, tourism, or agriculture, this visa fills the gap for high-value foreign nationals who wish to establish a long-term, stable presence in the country. It is a key tool for the government to foster development and economic growth through foreign investment.

This visa is for serious investors who intend to settle in Nicaragua and contribute to its economic development. Applicants must register their investment with the Ministry of Development, Industry, and Commerce (MIFIC) and provide proof of the $30,000 USD capital injection. It is highly distinctive because it offers a five-year renewable permanent residency status, providing greater stability than temporary permits and serving as a potential pathway for those seeking to integrate deeply into the Nicaraguan business landscape.
