Launched by Namibia in October 2022, the Digital Nomad Visa lets remote professionals live in the country for up to six months while earning income from foreign employers or clients. Applicants need at least USD 2,000 monthly income (USD 1,000 for a spouse, USD 500 per child), valid travel insurance, and a motivation letter from the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).
The visa is non-renewable: holders must wait 12 months after expiry before reapplying, and it cannot be converted onshore. Foreign income earned during the stay is generally not taxed locally. Applications are lodged with MHAISS using form 3-1/0033 plus medical, radiological, police-clearance and qualification documents.
This visa is ideal for remote employees, freelancers and entrepreneurs serving foreign clients who want a fixed six-month base in Namibia with the option to bring family.
