Official Information

Overview

Permit for foreign trainees at Malaysian factories or hotels under structured training programmes, valid up to 6 months with institutional sponsorship.

The Professional Visit Pass (PVP) for Industrial Trainees is a specialized short-term permit that allows foreign nationals to undergo structured practical training or knowledge transfer programs within Malaysian factories or hotels. It is not a standard employment visa; rather, it is intended for individuals who remain employed by an overseas company but need to be physically present in Malaysia to acquire specific skills or undergo training that is not available in their home country. The program ensures that the trainee gains valuable experience while contributing to the host organization's operational goals.

This pass is strictly temporary, with a maximum duration of six months for training purposes. The application must be initiated and sponsored by the Malaysian host entity, which takes responsibility for the trainee's conduct and compliance with immigration laws. Because the PVP is designed for specific, time-bound professional activities, it does not lead to permanent residency and does not allow for job changes or the inclusion of dependents. It is an ideal solution for multinational corporations or hospitality groups looking to upskill their international staff through cross-border training initiatives.
