The Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Platinum category is a premier tier of the long-standing MM2H programme, which was originally established in 2002 to encourage foreign nationals to reside in Malaysia. Following a major restructuring in 2024, the Platinum tier was introduced to target high-net-worth individuals and strategic investors. It fills the gap for a top-tier residency status that permits professional activities, allowing participants to integrate more deeply into the Malaysian economy than the traditional retiree-focused model.

This tier is for affluent individuals aged 25 and above who seek a long-term, 20-year renewable residency. It is distinguished by its high financial requirements—including a USD 1 million fixed deposit and a mandatory property purchase of at least RM 2 million—and the significant benefit of allowing the holder to work, invest, and conduct business.
