Overview

Extended stay pass for parents, parents-in-law, and other family members of Employment Pass or Residence Pass holders who do not qualify for a Dependant Pass.

The Long-Term Social Visit Pass (LTSVP) for family members of pass holders is an administrative provision designed to support the families of expatriates working in Malaysia. It addresses the need for professional talent to maintain a stable home life while on long-term assignments. By allowing the principal Employment Pass (EP) or Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T) holder to sponsor their immediate family members, the government ensures that expatriates can reside with their loved ones, thereby enhancing the attractiveness of Malaysia as a destination for global professionals and their families.

This pass is intended for the parents, parents-in-law, and certain other dependents of principal pass holders. It is strictly tied to the validity of the principal applicant's own work or residence pass. What makes this pass distinctive is its dependency-based nature; the duration and approval of the family member's stay are directly linked to the principal holder's status. It provides a clear, regulated pathway for expatriate families to live together, ensuring that the social and emotional needs of the professional are met during their tenure in the country.
