Overview

Two-year renewable work visa for expatriates and foreign directors of Labuan-registered companies in the Federal Territory of Labuan.

The Labuan Employment Pass is a specialized work visa designed for expatriates working within the Labuan International Business and Financial Centre (IBFC). It is specifically intended for directors and high-skilled professionals employed by Labuan-based trading companies. This visa provides a streamlined and cost-efficient pathway for foreign talent to live and work in Malaysia, offering a two-year renewable permit. Unlike standard Malaysian employment passes, the Labuan version is processed through the Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA), which oversees the compliance and 'fit and proper' status of the applicants, making it a highly attractive option for international business professionals.

This visa is ideal for expatriates who are setting up or working for entities involved in sectors like digital financial services, insurance, wealth management, or leasing within the Labuan jurisdiction. A key benefit of this pass is that it allows the holder to bring immediate family members under a Dependent Pass, facilitating a smooth transition for families. Furthermore, the program is noted for its flexibility, as it does not require the applicant to make significant financial deposits or property investments. By providing a clear, regulated, and relatively fast-tracked process, the Labuan Employment Pass supports the growth of the Labuan IBFC as a premier hub for international business and professional talent.
