Student Visa

The Student Visa is intended for non-citizens who have been accepted into a recognized educational institution in Mauritius. This visa covers a wide range of academic pursuits, including full-time enrollment in tertiary education, Technical and Vocational Educational and Training (TVET) programs, undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses, and post-doctoral research. By facilitating access to the country's growing education sector, this visa supports international students in achieving their academic goals within a safe and multicultural environment that offers globally recognized qualifications.

To be eligible, students must secure a seat at an institution registered with the relevant local authorities, such as the Tertiary Education Commission or the Mauritius Qualifications Authority. Applicants are required to demonstrate financial capacity to cover their tuition and living expenses, with a minimum savings requirement of 29,710 MUR. Additionally, maintaining valid health insurance for the entire duration of the stay is a mandatory requirement. The application process is typically managed through the educational institution where the student is enrolled, ensuring that all academic and immigration criteria are met before travel.
