Overview

Permit allowing a family unit including spouse, dependent children, parents, and household staff to reside in Mauritius for up to 10 years under the Immigration Act 2022.

The Family Occupation Permit is a premium residency program in Mauritius designed for high-net-worth individuals and their families who seek to relocate to the island with maximum flexibility. Unlike other occupation permits that require specific business turnover, salary thresholds, or ongoing employment contracts, this permit is primarily driven by a one-time non-refundable contribution of USD 250,000 to the COVID-19 Projects Development Fund. It grants the main applicant and their spouse the right to live, work, and invest in Mauritius for a period of 10 years. The permit is comprehensive, covering the applicant's spouse, dependent children up to the age of 24, parents, and other dependents, making it an ideal solution for families wishing to move as a single unit.

This permit is specifically tailored for wealthy families who prioritize ease of entry and freedom of movement over traditional employment or business-based residency requirements. By removing the need for ongoing business plans or performance milestones, it allows holders to pursue various economic activities or simply enjoy the high standard of living, safety, and infrastructure that Mauritius offers. Additionally, the permit allows for the inclusion of individuals employed exclusively to support the family unit, subject to approval from the Director-General of Immigration. It serves as a streamlined pathway for those looking to establish a long-term base in a stable, tax-efficient, and strategically located jurisdiction.
