Overview

Permits entry to participate in sporting competitions and athletic events held in Moldova for up to 90 days.

The Short-Stay Sport Activities Visa (Type C/S) is specifically designed for foreign nationals from visa-required countries who intend to travel to the Republic of Moldova to participate in organized sports competitions or contests. This visa falls under the broader category of short-stay visas (Type C), which are intended for temporary visits that do not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period. It is intended for athletes, coaches, and members of official sports delegations who need to enter the country for a fixed duration to engage in professional or amateur sporting events. The visa ensures that the applicant's presence in Moldova is documented and linked to a legitimate sporting purpose, requiring official verification of the delegation's composition.

To qualify for this visa, applicants must demonstrate that they have the financial means to support themselves during their stay and possess adequate medical insurance. A critical component of the application is the provision of an official list of the delegation, which helps authorities verify the legitimacy of the sports-related travel. Applicants must also meet standard security and documentation requirements, such as holding a valid passport and, in many cases, providing proof of legal status in other jurisdictions like the EU or the United States. By facilitating the entry of international participants, this visa supports Moldova's integration into the global sports community while maintaining strict border control and security standards for all short-term visitors.
