Residence credential for administrative, technical, and service staff of diplomatic missions, with restricted immunities and privileges.
The Category B/C Administrative and Technical Staff Identity Card is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, following procedures aligned with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. This document serves to formally accredit support staff working within foreign missions, filling the gap for non-diplomatic personnel who require official recognition to perform their duties. It provides a clear legal framework for the residence and status of these employees, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of protection and privileges necessary to support the mission's operations while residing in Lithuania.
This card is intended for administrative, technical, and service staff of diplomatic missions and consular posts. It is distinctive because it categorizes staff based on their specific roles and the corresponding level of partial immunity they are granted under international law. Unlike the Category A card, it reflects a different tier of diplomatic status, yet it remains a vital document that equates to a residence permit for these individuals. It ensures that mission support staff can live and work in Lithuania effectively, with their status formally documented and recognized by the Lithuanian authorities.
