Official Information

Overview

For foreign government officials on official business and their family members.

The A-2 Official Visa is issued to foreign government officials and employees of international organizations who are visiting South Korea to conduct official business. Unlike the A-1 visa, which is primarily for diplomatic personnel, the A-2 visa covers a broader range of government-related functions, including participation in government-sponsored meetings, conferences, or administrative tasks on behalf of a foreign state or recognized international body.

This visa is intended for professionals and officials whose presence in Korea is required for the execution of official government or organizational mandates. It ensures that these individuals can carry out their duties with the necessary administrative support and recognition. Like the diplomatic visa, the A-2 status is granted for the duration of the official assignment, and it allows for the inclusion of immediate family members who are accompanying the official during their stay in the country.
