Residence permit for young adults aged 18-25 who wish to work as au pairs in host families. Host family must employ the au pair and provide compensation, accommodation, and food.
The Au Pair program allows young adults aged 18-25 to live with Icelandic families while providing childcare and household assistance. Host families must be vetted and must have at least one adult member who is an Icelandic citizen or permanent resident.
The au pair works a maximum of 30 hours per week and receives monthly pocket money (minimum ISK 60,000 per 4 weeks), accommodation, food, and time off.
