Overview

Long-term residence permit for foreign nationals investing minimum $90,000 in Iran or maintaining long-term currency deposits. Allows 5-year stay with renewal option and potential pathway to citizenship after 5 years.

The 5-year residence permit is a specialized program designed to attract foreign capital and stimulate the Iranian economy amidst international sanctions. It is intended for foreign investors, traders, and their immediate family members who are willing to commit significant financial resources to the country. By depositing or investing a minimum of $100,000 USD in approved Iranian financial institutions, applicants gain the right to reside in Iran for five years. This permit is a pathway for those looking to engage in business activities, access public services like healthcare and education, and obtain local documentation such as a driver's license.

This program is specifically tailored for high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and executives of overseas firms who seek a long-term presence in Iran. It provides a stable legal status that allows for multiple entries and exits without the limitations typically associated with short-term tourist or business visas. The process requires rigorous coordination with the Organization for Investment Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran to ensure the investment meets national criteria. Once granted, the permit offers a secure framework for both the principal investor and their dependents to live and work within the country, provided the investment remains active and compliant with government regulations.
