Overview

Endorsement in a non-Irish passport for dual Irish citizens, granting unrestricted residence and full work rights in Ireland at no fee.

Stamp 6 is an Irish Immigration Service Delivery endorsement placed in a non-Irish passport to confirm the holder is also an Irish citizen and may live and work in Ireland without conditions. It is for dual citizens who obtained Irish status through an Irish-born parent, a grandparent via Foreign Births Registration, naturalisation, or Post-Nuptial Citizenship.

There is no fee and no formal application form. Documents are posted to the Stamp 6 Section at Burgh Quay, Dublin 2. Processing currently faces very high volumes and significant delays, with no published target time. The endorsement is renewable when the foreign passport expires and confers full work rights and unrestricted residence.

This visa is ideal for dual Irish citizens in Ireland on a non-Irish passport who want a permanent, unrestricted residence endorsement and full work rights with no fee.
