Overview

Ireland's ICT Employment Permit lets multinationals move senior staff, key personnel or trainees to a connected Irish branch for up to five years.

The Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Employment Permit lets multinationals move senior management, key personnel or trainees from a foreign branch to a connected Irish entity. Applicants need at least six months prior employment (one month for trainees) and must meet minimum remuneration of EUR 49,523 for senior/key personnel or EUR 36,605 for trainees on a defined programme.

Applications go through the Employment Permits Online portal at least 12 weeks before start. The fee is EUR 1,000 for permits up to 24 months (EUR 500 for six months or less), with renewals up to EUR 1,500 for 36 months, plus a EUR 300 IRP registration fee on arrival. DETE was processing new ICT applications received on 22 April 2026 as of late May 2026, around a one-month turnaround.

This visa is ideal for senior managers, key personnel, and trainees moving from a foreign parent or affiliate to an Irish branch of the same group on a multi-year assignment.
