Overview

Work visa for employees and experts working in Indonesia's designated Special Economic Zones with streamlined processing.

The Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Work Visa (Index E23A) was established to support Indonesia’s strategic initiative to attract foreign investment into designated industrial and economic hubs. By creating a specialized visa category, the government addresses the unique operational needs of businesses located within SEZs, which often require a high concentration of international expertise to drive development and innovation. It bridges the gap between general labor regulations and the accelerated, business-friendly environment intended to foster growth within these specific geographical zones.

This visa is tailored for experts, technicians, and specialized employees working for companies operating within an officially designated Special Economic Zone. It is ideal for professionals in fields such as manufacturing, logistics, or high-tech industries that are central to the SEZ's development goals. The visa is distinctive because it requires a letter of guarantee from a sponsor located within the SEZ, and it is specifically tied to the economic activities permitted within that zone, offering a streamlined process for those contributing to Indonesia's regional development.
