Overview

5-year permanent residence permit for foreign investors and company directors who have held investment KITAS for 5+ consecutive years, renewable for life.

The Investor KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit) is a long-term residency status for foreign investors who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to the Indonesian economy. Unlike temporary permits, the KITAP is a five-year, renewable status that significantly reduces the administrative burden of annual renewals. It is granted to foreign shareholders, directors, or commissioners of a PT PMA (Foreign Investment Company) who have successfully maintained their status and compliance in Indonesia for a consecutive period, typically four to five years, on an Investor KITAS.

This permit is intended for serious, long-term investors who have established a legal business presence in Indonesia with a significant capital investment, often meeting thresholds such as IDR 15 billion. It is highly sought after because it allows for greater stability, the ability to reside in Indonesia without frequent visa runs, and easier access to local services like banking and credit. It is the ultimate goal for foreign business owners who intend to manage their Indonesian operations for the long haul.
