The Tech Visa (Type Z.13A) is a modern immigration pathway introduced in 2026 under Law 5275/2026 to bolster Greece’s burgeoning technology sector. It fills a critical gap by providing a fast-track, employer-linked visa specifically for foreign talent recruited by startups registered in the 'Elevate Greece' national registry. This visa is exclusively for highly qualified third-country nationals who have secured a valid employment contract with an Elevate Greece-certified startup. The applicant must demonstrate their expertise and professional qualifications relevant to the tech role. The visa is valid for 12 months, offering immediate work authorization to the holder. Its distinctive feature is its direct link to the startup ecosystem, allowing tech companies to quickly onboard international experts, with the potential for these professionals to eventually transition into more permanent residency categories like the EU Blue Card if they continue their careers in Greece.
