Overview

For young adults from partner countries to work and travel in France for 12 months.

The French Working Holiday Visa (Vacances-Travail / PVT) lets young adults from 16 partner countries live and work in France for up to 12 months. No job offer is needed — holders can take up employment freely to fund their stay. Canadians may do two consecutive 12-month terms.

Applicants must be 18–30 (up to 35 for Argentines, Australians, and Canadians), hold at least €2,500 in savings, and carry comprehensive health insurance. The visa costs €99, though Canadians, Colombians, and Argentines are exempt. Processing takes 2–4 weeks. The visa is non-renewable and offers no PR pathway.

This visa is ideal for adventurous young adults from a partner country who want to experience French life while funding their travels through local work, without a job offer or long-term commitment.
