Overview

The France Carte Talent – Profession artistique et culturelle is a multi-year residence permit for non-EU artists, performers, and literary or artistic authors. Valid for up to four years, it covers musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, writers, and dancers in the French cultural sector.

Applicants need at least 70% of the gross SMIC (≈€1,276/month), with 51%+ from artistic activity. Salaried artists need contracts of at least 3 months over 12. The visa costs €99; the residence permit costs €225 on arrival. Spouses may join on a companion card, and the permit provides a pathway to permanent residency.

This visa is ideal for non-EU creative professionals — musicians, filmmakers, visual artists, writers — who want long-term residency in France and earn most of their income from their art.
