Overview

The Non-Government Organization (NGO) Work Permit is a specialized category designed for foreign nationals who have secured employment with a registered non-governmental organization operating within Fiji. This permit facilitates the legal entry and residence of individuals contributing to the charitable, social, or developmental objectives of these organizations. To qualify, applicants must have a formal, signed contract of employment with an NGO that is officially registered and recognized by the relevant Fijian authorities. This permit ensures that the foreign worker is legally authorized to perform their specific duties for the duration of their contract.

The application process for an NGO Work Permit requires the submission of a comprehensive set of documents, including a valid passport that remains valid for the entire duration of the requested permit. The application fee for this permit is set at $650.05. Applicants must ensure that their employment contract clearly outlines the terms of their engagement and that the sponsoring NGO provides all necessary organizational documentation to support the application. As with other work-related permits in Fiji, it is essential that the application is handled correctly and that all requirements are met before travel, as individuals are generally not permitted to enter the country on a visitor permit with the intention of seeking or transitioning to a work permit while in Fiji.
