The Work in Mass Media Permit allows journalists and media professionals employed by foreign media organisations to work in Finland. Applicants must have a confirmed employment contract with a foreign media entity and meet the minimum income of EUR 17,556 annually. A job offer is required; applications are submitted abroad via the OLE_TY5 form.
Permits are granted for up to 4 years per grant and are renewable. First permits cost EUR 530 online or EUR 630 by paper; extensions cost EUR 230 online or EUR 430 by paper. Processing takes 1–2 months. Extended permit applications must be submitted inside Finland. Spouses may work independently.
