Overview

Visa for foreign nationals attending international conferences, seminars, or workshops organized by governmental, private, or educational institutions in Ethiopia.

The Conference/Workshop Visa (CV) is a purpose-driven entry permit established to support Ethiopia's role as a major diplomatic and intellectual hub in Africa, particularly in hosting international summits and academic gatherings. It fills the gap for short-term, event-based travel, distinguishing these participants from general business travelers. By providing a dedicated visa category for conferences, seminars, and workshops, the Ethiopian government facilitates the seamless entry of delegates, researchers, and speakers, often coordinating with organizers to expedite the process for large groups.

This visa is for foreign nationals aged 18 and older who are invited to participate in international conferences, seminars, or workshops organized by government ministries, educational institutions, or reputable private organizations. It is the ideal choice for academics, NGO staff, and professional delegates. The visa is distinctive because it is tied directly to an official invitation letter from the event host, which serves as the primary justification for entry. This ensures that the visa is used strictly for the intended event, providing a clear, efficient, and secure entry method for participants contributing to Ethiopia's vibrant international event calendar.
