Type D — Family Reunification Visa (Type D)

The Spain Type D Family Reunification Visa allows family members of legal residents to join them for stays over 90 days. Eligible relatives include spouses or registered partners, children under 18, and dependent parents over 65. The sponsor must have held legal residence in Spain for at least 12 months.

The sponsor must show income of at least 150% of IPREM (~€900/month) for the first dependent, plus 50% per additional member, and must prove adequate housing. The visa fee is €80, processing takes up to 75 days. Holders receive immediate work rights and time accrues toward permanent residency.
