Overview

Permanent residence for non-EU nationals who have resided legally and continuously in Spain for 5 years.

The EU Long-Term Residence Permit (Larga Duración) grants indefinite residency and full labor market access to non-EU nationals who have lived legally in Spain for five continuous years. It confers the same economic and social rights as Spanish citizens.

Applicants need sufficient income (at least 100% of the monthly IPREM) and health insurance. The physical TIE card is renewed every five years, but the underlying status is permanent. Spouses and children over 16 gain full work rights without a separate permit. EU mobility rights allow transfer to other Member States.

This visa is ideal for non-EU nationals with five years of settled legal residence in Spain who want permanent status, full work rights, and EU-wide mobility.
