Overview

Transfer within a multinational company to an EU establishment. Managers, specialists, or trainee employees.

The Spanish ICT permit, governed by Law 14/2013, lets multinationals transfer managers, specialists, or trainees to a Spanish branch without a labor market test. The employer files through the UGECE fast-track unit, which must decide within 20 working days — far faster than a standard work permit.

Managers and specialists may stay up to 3 years (trainees 1 year), renewable. Fees total around EUR 169: EUR 73.26 authorization, EUR 80 consulate visa, EUR 16.08 TIE card. Family members join on a concurrent permit with full work rights. Five years of continuous legal residence can lead to long-term EU residency.

This visa is ideal for non-EU professionals employed by a multinational for at least 3 months who need to work at a Spanish subsidiary as a manager, specialist, or trainee.
