Student Residency Permit (تصريح إقامة طالب)

The Student Residency Permit (Iqamah Talabah) is a specialized category of residency granted to foreign nationals who have been formally admitted to recognized educational institutions within Egypt. This permit is governed by the foundational Law No. 89 of 1960, which regulates the entry, residence, and exit of foreigners in the Arab Republic of Egypt. It serves to bridge the gap for international students, ensuring they have a secure legal status to reside in the country for the duration of their academic programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and technical studies, without needing to rely on short-term tourist visa extensions.

This permit is designed for international students enrolled in Egyptian universities, language schools, or religious programs. To qualify, applicants must provide an official enrollment certificate from their institution and demonstrate sufficient financial means to cover their tuition and living expenses. A key feature of this residency is that it remains valid upon re-entry into Egypt, providing stability for students who may travel during breaks.
