One-year renewable Egyptian residence for foreigners owning a registered property worth at least USD 100,000 (purchases on/after 11 May 2017).
Egypt's 1-Year Property Investment Residency is a renewable permit from the Ministry of Interior for foreigners who own registered real estate in the country. It operates under Law No. 230 of 1996 regulating foreign ownership of built property and land.
To qualify, the applicant must hold an Ownership (Green) Contract registered with the Egyptian Notary Public. The minimum property value is USD 100,000 for purchases on or after 11 May 2017, with funds wired from abroad through an Egyptian state-owned bank. The permit covers spouse and children and is renewable while ownership is maintained.
This visa is ideal for foreign property owners seeking a family-inclusive Egyptian base at the entry tier — retirees, snowbirds and investors who want legal residency without a work permit and plan to hold their property long-term.
