The Research Residence Permit is for doctoral researchers, postdoctoral researchers, and other scientists conducting research or academic work at Estonian universities and research institutions. Researchers are exempt from immigration quotas and do not need consent from the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund. They can also study and work in other EU countries under the Research Directive.
