The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is a new electronic travel authorization system for the Schengen Area, expected to launch in Q4 2026. It applies to citizens of approximately 60 visa-exempt countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and many others.
ETIAS is an entry requirement (not a visa) that complements existing visa-free travel arrangements.
