Overview

For young adults (18-30/35) from partner countries to work and travel in Germany for up to 12 months.

The German Working Holiday Visa lets young adults aged 18-30 (up to 35 for Canadians) from 12 partner countries—including Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, and Canada—live and work in Germany for up to 12 months under bilateral youth mobility agreements.

The visa costs €75 and processes in 1-2 weeks. Holders can work freely without a job offer, changing employers throughout the stay, but employment must remain incidental to travel. The program is non-renewable, one-time only, and carries no path to permanent residence. Dependents cannot accompany.

This visa is ideal for 18-30 year olds from eligible countries who want flexible short-term work experience in Germany without a job offer or employer sponsorship.
