Overview

Long-term visa for artists, performers, filmmakers, or cultural workers engaged in extended cultural projects or residencies in the Czech Republic.

The Long-Term Visa for Cultural Activities (Dlouhodobé vízum – kultura) is a dedicated visa category governed by the Czech Act on the Residence of Foreign Nationals. It was established to facilitate the entry of non-EU citizens who contribute to the cultural life of the Czech Republic, filling a gap for those whose work does not fit into standard employment or business visa categories. This visa provides a legal framework for artists, performers, and cultural professionals to reside in the country for periods exceeding 90 days to participate in specific cultural projects, performances, or artistic endeavors that enrich the local community and international exchange.

This visa is designed for artists, musicians, filmmakers, actors, and cultural workers who have a clear, documented purpose for their stay. The ideal applicant is a professional who has been invited by a Czech cultural institution, theater, gallery, or production company. What makes this visa distinctive is the requirement for a formal invitation or contract from a host entity in the Czech Republic, which serves as the primary evidence of the applicant's cultural contribution. It is not intended for general tourism or freelance work, but rather for specific, project-based activities that require the applicant's physical presence in the country to execute their craft or collaborate with local partners.
